Andrea Rebello, slain Hofstra student, honored at commencement
Grieving Hofstra University students mourned the shooting death of classmate Andrea Rebello in a tearful graduation ceremony on Sunday. The commencement - normally devoted to celebrations of academic accomplishment - took on a funereal air as roughly 700 undergraduate students wore memorial white pins on their royal blue robes as they accepted their diplomas.  “It’s not going to ever be the same without her. She was a beautiful girl inside and out, and I know she’s watching down on us,” said Rebello’s friend, Talia Sperandio, a graduate from Irvington, N.Y., who wrote “RIP Andrea” on her mortarboard.
